Alcohol dependency help

Creatures of habit.

To some extent, everybody expects a certain amount of consistency in their lives - we desire things to work the same way every time, in the order that we recognise they should happen - that the sun should rise and set, the meal on the table should taste the same and that the people who we love, will still love us tomorrow.

Our perception of these consistent physical/emotional events comforts us and binds our world together.

Change therefore robs us of what was once a comforting or conditioned aspect of our existence, yet change may be the only solution to what may be holding us back from a truly full and rewarding life.

All too often the promises we make to ourselves are frustrated by everyday events, although we have the best intentions, life has a habit of tripping us up on the way to a better life. Fall too many times and the will to keep picking ourselves up starts to fade, eventually frustration overtakes us and we associate more pain with trying, than focusing on the pleasure of success. Our perception therefore needs to change, to see the world through different eyes, away from the cocoon of our habitual actions.

What we become accustomed to, is a development of our growth and experiences. In time we become habitual in our ways, good or bad they shape who we are and conversely effect the world around us.

To recognise a habit for what it is - therefore allows us the insight for change.

It's this insight, that is crucial to affecting change in what we habitually do, and what we consistently achieve. We become creatures of habit because of the comfort of familiarity, it's not that we fail to see their detrimental effects, its our way of coping in a frantic and sometimes hostile world.

Alcohol for many softens that pounding of everyday life, yet its legacy is a world of extremes, a bitter sweet experience that all too often imprisons a person within a circle of inner conflict.

If Alcohol dependency has affected your life in such a way that you can no longer face another day with or without it, then I would like to help you to make some decisions about significant changes to your life - changes that will make tomorrow a more promising place for you to be apart of.
